If you want to be a real human being - a real woman, a real man - you cannot tolerate things which put you to indignation, to outrage. You must stand up. I always say to people, 'Look around; look at what makes you unhappy, what makes you furious, and then engage yourself in some action.-Stephane Hessel
There are a group of people who would like to silence everybody and have everybody go along to get along, but that's not going to be very helpful for us in the long run, in terms of solving our problems. And somebody has to be courageous enough to actually stand up to, you know, the bullies.-Benjamin Carson

I have always been called the nice one, the quiet one, the sweet one. I have been going through something on my job and I know it’s not right and it’s not fair. I am such a hard worker and I give my all in everything that I do. I go above and beyond the call of duty, not because I am a butt kisser but, because that is who I am. I am the type of employee that is always willing to be a team player and always willing and wanting to learn new things.
I have been in my current position for a little over 2 years, but been with the company in the first 6 months of working for the company I was promoted, I have earned an associate degree and numerous certificates under my degree. I have been promised a promotion and when the time came for me to get the promotion, it didn’t happen, a slap in my face. My husband use to tell me that I put all that I have into my job and it was messing with my home. Since I’ve been here, I never, ever received a bad complaint from a student. A lot of students will not even come into my department if they do not see me at the front desk and I am happy that I can provide that type of service to our students. But, I should never BE PUNISHED for being a Model Employee. NEVER!!
I use to sit back and let it happen, I will be so upset and hurt that they treat their great employees this way. I would complain to my husband and I even went to my supervisor on numerous occasions about how I was feeling and all I got was lies and excuse. Now, I decide to take it to the next level. I have to stand up for myself, even if no one else does. Recently, I have had some concerns about my job and they being unfair. I am left at the front desk by myself because, they know that tacha does such a great job and we can depend on her (I was told by my supervisor and other employees) and she is nicest person at the front. I thank you but, this is a two-person job and not a one.
I was so stressed out, that I was out of work for two and ½ weeks, per my doctor’s order. You have to make sure you’re happy and if you’re not, then do something to change it! Just a word of encouragement. Stand up for yourself because if you don’t, you will fall for anything.

"Get yourself ready! Stand up and say to them whatever I command you. Do not be terrified by them, or I will terrify you before them. Jeremiah 1:17
